FRANCIA L. RUPPEN PhD

President and Chief Executive Officer

Francia Ruppen has a B.S. in Psychology from the University of Southwestern Louisiana, and a PhD in Neuroscience from Bryn Mawr College in Pennsylvania. At Bryn Mawr College, Ms. Ruppen co-developed an apparatus that enabled the non-invasive study of neurological processes, demonstrating that alternative procedures to sacrificing animals for scientific research are achievable and valuable.

Ms. Ruppen authored The Hollywood Vegetarian Cookbook which combines health conscious information with photos of and recipes by popular celebrities, such as Tim Allen, Barbara Walters, Julie Andrews, k.d. Lang, Doris Day, Roger Ebert, Carol Burnett, Phoebe Cates, Paul Anka, Geraldo Rivera, and Vanna White.

As an independent real estate investor/professional, Ms. Ruppen was a licensed agent in Pennsylvania, where she was co-owner of a Century 21 office in Valley Forge, PA , and in Texas where she worked as an appraiser and invested in the Houston real estate market.

In her personal life, Ms. Ruppen is "mom" to six Schnauzers – two giant and three miniature – and is co-organizer of the Austin Schnauzer Meetup Group.

J. KARL JACKSON

Vice President

Mr. Jackson earned his B.A. in Communications from Texas A&M University, with a specialty in Radio, Television and Film. He worked as chief copywriter at Maya Advertising Agency, and as a TV commercial/feature producer at KZTV and KEDT in Corpus Christi, TX. Mr. Jackson is a freelance journalist having published numerous articles in national publications on sports, business, and general interest subjects.

Mr. Jackson served as Media Director of the Tour of Texas International Bicycle Stage Race, the largest amateur international bicycle race in the USA, from 1986-1990. Thereafter, he served as director of the Technical Support Program for Shimano USA Corp., in California, and was solely responsible for Shimano's Professional Class Elite Athlete Program with an annual budget $250,000, and was editor of the "Shimano Dealer News", circulation 44,000.

In his personal life, Mr. Jackson is an exotic sports car mechanic, specialising in Italian (e.g., Ferrari, Alfa Romeo, and Fiat-Abarth) automobiles, and is a licensed recreational pilot and FAA certified repairman.
